People with Diabetes Diet Food

The reduced sensitivity of cells to insulin activity and the lack of the hormone insulin produced by the pancreas makes people with diabetes have blood sugar levels that are higher than normal. Eating food should feel guilty or be selective. For this reason people with diabetes are encouraged to control diet. What foods are safe to eat? 

What food is appropriate? Based on the guidelines issued by the American Diabetes Association (American Diabetes Association / ADA), people with diabetes are encouraged to eat foods containing carbohydrates from whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and low-fat milk. In addition, it is recommended that 60-70% of calorie intake should come from carbohydrates and saturated fats not single (canola oil, olive oil and peanut oil, avocados and nuts), and 15-20% of calories from protein intake. In addition it is advisable to limit intake of cholesterol, which is less than 300 milligrams and minimizing trans fat intake. 


Here are some other foods that are recommended: 

 
Oat.  

Oats contain soluble fiber slows the absorption of water to function ang sugar into the blood and reduce blood cholesterol. Increased levels of cholesterol is one risk factor causes of diabetes. 

Peas, beans and long beans.  

These foods rich in soluble fiber and increase blood sugar levels slowly. In addition, these types of nuts can be a source of carbohydrate, protein and fiber is good. 

Apples, pears, apricots

cherries, grepefruit (a type of grapefruit with a slightly bitter taste), oranges, peaches and plums. Types of these fruits provide soluble fiber and release sugar slowly into the bloodstream. This fruit can be a good snack option for people with diabetes. 

Pasta, sweet potatoes, and bread wheat.  

These foods release energy slowly and can become a good source of carbohydrate for people with diabetes. 

Whole-grain breads, brown rice, whole meal pasta and breakfast is whole grain.  

All these foods are rich in insoluble fiber. In addition, these foods also contain zinc and chromium that serves to strengthen the work of insulin. 

Low-fat yogurt and skim milk.  

Both these products contain levels of saturated fat and total fat content is very low. Ni Products also provides carbohydrates, protein and calcium. 

Low-fat red meat, skinless poultry, fish and tofu.  

These foods can become an alternative source of protein low in fat. Limiting fat intake can prevent weight gain and reduce the risk of increased cholesterol in the blood.

Mackerel, salmon and sardines.  

These types of fish rich in omega-3 fatty acid that is believed to reduce the risk of heart disease. 

Hemp and pumpkin seeds.  

These grains also contain omega-3 fatty acids. You can add these seeds to your cereal. 

Fruits and vegetables.
